AC PRIVATE - A List concierge: fine wine sourcing, vintage analysis, provenance checks and bespoke cellar building. Request a confidential consultation.

Discuss your cellar

AC PRIVATE - A List concierge offers fine wine sourcing and bespoke wine cellar building. The service brings together market analysis, human expertise, provenance review and coordination of storage. It starts with your brief, not a predetermined stock list: wines to enjoy soon, a collection to develop or a cellar intended for the next generation.

Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône Valley and Tuscany each offer a different context for collecting. Within any region, the estate, vintage and storage history matter. Our role is to make those choices clearer and coordinate the stages of your project through one concierge contact.

Buying fine wine: look beyond the label

An estate’s reputation alone does not establish whether an offer is right for your collection. Prices for the same reference can vary with the seller, bottle format, packaging, available stock and tax status. A meaningful comparison must consider equivalent wines and equivalent terms.

AC PRIVATE - A List concierge considers wine quality, maturity, market evidence and the documented history of each proposed lot. An older vintage may warrant as much attention as a new release. An established name never removes the need to examine provenance. The objective is an informed acquisition, not simply the most talked-about bottle.

A three-stage approach to fine wine selection

The service draws on specialist quantitative and qualitative analysis tools, supported by professionals involved in your mandate. Data helps direct the search; it does not replace wine expertise or the checks required before an acquisition.

1. Compare estates within an appellation

The initial review examines assessments across several vintages alongside an estate’s market levels. It distinguishes reputation, consistency and relative value. In Pauillac, for example, wines are assessed in their appellation context rather than treating a famous label as sufficient evidence of suitability for your cellar.

2. Examine the vintage and available offers

A prospective vintage is compared with professional and retail offers, its release history and other vintages from the same estate. Bottle formats, quantities and tax treatment need to remain comparable. A difference between wholesale and retail prices is a signal to investigate, not a discount automatically promised to the client.

3. Confirm the case for buying

The final stage brings together assessed quality, price movements, actual availability and lot documentation. It also asks a personal question: does this wine fit your tastes, drinking horizon and the balance of your collection? A valuation gap in isolation is not a sufficient reason to buy.

Bordeaux, Burgundy and beyond: a cellar shaped around you

A considered cellar need not consist only of wines for long ageing. Your mandate can separate bottles intended for earlier drinking from those to be kept, then distribute the search across regions, styles and vintages. Personal preferences remain central even when market analysis identifies a potentially interesting opportunity.

The search may include Bordeaux grands crus, Burgundy vintages, Champagne cuvées and other agreed regions. Acquisitions are considered both at producer level and on the secondary market. Rare allocations and specific references depend on actual availability; no particular bottle is promised before confirmation.

Provenance and storage: what the price cannot tell you

Fine wine is a living product. Available information about origin, previous ownership, storage and transport forms part of a lot’s assessment. The consistency of documentation, the described condition of bottles and conservation arrangements should sit alongside the commercial analysis.

Request a confidential consultation

Your concierge coordinates the review with the relevant professionals. This process must not be mistaken for automatic certification of every bottle. Missing information needs to be identified before a decision rather than replaced with a promise of absolute authenticity.

From the initial brief to ongoing cellar management

A confidential consultation establishes your preferences, acquisition budget, existing collection, ageing objectives and intended destinations. An individual mandate then defines the search, decision-making arrangements and scope of the service.

Selection and purchases follow this framework, with documentation of the wines acquired. The arrangement provides for individual ownership of the wines under the mandate’s terms. A presentation of the collection connects the choices to your objectives, rather than leaving you with an unexplained inventory.

The service can include professional storage, potentially in bond, appropriate insurance, delivery coordination and online cellar monitoring under the selected arrangements. Storage locations, cover, charges, reporting access and timings are specified contractually. This does not mean that a wine valuation tool is already available in the website’s client area.

Where applicable, bonded storage is not a permanent tax exemption. Delivery may trigger VAT, duties and formalities depending on destination and the status of the wines. These points are reviewed before dispatch; there is no universal delivery time promised for every country.

A wine concierge within your wider private concierge service

The offer complements our private concierge services and can be coordinated with your family office representatives. It can support clients based in Paris, on the French Riviera or in the Alps, with international requests assessed individually. These destinations describe concierge coordination, not unrestricted shipping guarantees.

For dining at home, wine selection can be coordinated with a private chef request. Our editorial guide to prestige French Champagnes offers a further perspective on collecting. AC PRIVATE - A List concierge remains your contact for connecting the cellar project with other services you request.

Collecting wine without a promised investment return

Wine values can rise or fall. An indicative market valuation is neither a firm repurchase offer nor a guarantee of a quick sale. Fees, taxes, bottle condition and liquidity affect the outcome of any disposal.

Our role is to help document collection and conservation decisions, not to promise financial performance. Tax, succession and investment questions should be discussed with appropriately qualified advisers. A sound collecting decision should not depend on an assumed future profit.

No. The analysis compares available offers on equivalent terms and assesses their quality and relevance. No fixed saving, minimum price or financial outcome is guaranteed.

Can a collection include both drinking and ageing wines?

Yes. The brief can distinguish bottles for earlier enjoyment from those intended for longer storage, according to your preferences, the vintages and availability.

The arrangement provides for individual ownership under the mandate. Storage, insurance, lot identification and access to cellar information are specified before commitment.

Can wines be delivered in France or abroad?

Requests are reviewed according to destination, wine status and applicable rules. Transport arrangements, timings, taxes and formalities are confirmed before dispatch.

Is a bespoke wine cellar guaranteed to increase in value?

No. Prices may fall and resale may take time. The service concerns selection and coordination of a collection; it guarantees neither capital preservation nor a return.
