Kaysersberg opens its Christmas market on just four weekends a year, Friday to Sunday. AC PRIVATE - A List concierge explains how to prepare: arriving before the crowds, the castle and the fortified bridge, winegrowers, and a private dinner on your return.

Kaysersberg · Advent weekends 2026 · The private way

Below the ruins of its imperial castle, Kaysersberg keeps a Christmas that is more artisanal than spectacular. The market opens only on Advent weekends — just four windows, which makes it the most demanding stop to plan.

A market with a short calendar

In 2026, the Kaysersberg Christmas market runs Friday to Sunday on 27-29 November, 4-6 December, 11-13 December and 18-20 December. It is set around the Cour de l’Arsenal and the Sainte-Croix church, with a farmers’ market on Place de la Mairie. Artisans and producers take centre stage: decorations, textiles, bredele, gingerbread and farm produce.

That rhythm concentrates visitors into a few days. Voted France’s favourite village in 2017, Kaysersberg is busy on Saturday afternoons, so the art lies in choosing Friday or the start of the day.

Kaysersberg within the circuit

Kaysersberg is around a quarter of an hour from Colmar and very close to Riquewihr, so both villages fit into the same Friday. The full circuit is described in Alsace Christmas Markets, the Private Way.
