Comte de Mazeray: Where Goldsmithing Meets Exceptional Viticulture
Some objects transcend their own nature. Creations that cease to be mere products and become artefacts of memory — gestures of rare eloquence. The champagne and cognac of Comte de Mazeray belong to this singular category: that of drinkable jewels, as the house itself proclaims. Enriched with pure 24-carat gold flakes, these exceptional cuvées embody a philosophy of absolute gifting, where every sip becomes the final act of a goldsmith's masterwork.

For the most discerning hosts, artistic directors of private events, and corporate gift managers seeking an unforgettable differentiator, AC Private offers privileged access to these ultra-confidential productions — sourcing, personalisation, worldwide delivery — with the discretion and precision that define our house.
A Californian Legend, a French Obsession with Gold
Every great house is born from a story larger than itself. That of Comte de Mazeray begins in the fever of 1850s California, when Joseph, Comte de Mazeray, left France to join the Gold Rush. He made his fortune there. But it was his return to France that sealed the house's destiny: Joseph brought back not only his wealth, but a profound conviction — that gold, the metal of gods and kings, deserved to be offered differently. His gifts contained gold. Not in ingots, not in jewellery. In experiences.

Request a confidential consultationThis founding intuition — to make gold a living, consumable, intimate gift — travels across generations to find its contemporary expression in the workshops of Jean-Christophe Rousseau, a goldsmith trained at Versailles, who develops the current cuvées in collaboration with Gold Emotion. The rigour of Versailles goldsmithing applied to Champagne viticulture: this is the alchemy that produces these extraordinary bottles.

The Cuvées: Anatomy of a 24-Carat Gold Flake Champagne
A Pure Gold — The Exceptional Blanc de Champagne
The house's flagship cuvée, "A Pure Gold", rests on a precisely calibrated blend: 90% Pinot Noir, 7% Chardonnay, 3% Pinot Meunier. An architecture dominated by the power and structure of Pinot Noir, tempered by the minerality of Chardonnay. The colour is a deep gold with copper highlights — and this is not solely the effect of the suspended gold flakes. It is the very substance of the wine expressing itself, even before the eye distinguishes the metallic glints drifting slowly through the glass.

On the nose, the cuvée reveals itself as fine and delicate, carried by aromas of red fruits and vine peaches — an aromatic signature of understated elegance. On the palate, the presence of gold is far from incidental: recognised for their medicinal properties — stimulation of blood circulation, antioxidant virtues — the ethically sourced gold flakes used by the house contribute to an approach that is as sensory as it is philosophical. To drink Comte de Mazeray is to ingest beauty itself.
The cuvée is available in half-bottle (37.5cl), bottle (75cl), magnum (150cl) and jeroboam (300cl) — each format answering a different intention, from an intimate gift to a gala table centrepiece.
