Salon des Vignerons Indépendants 2027: Essentials

Dates: February 19-22, 2027
Hours: 10am-7pm (Thursday-Sunday)
Venue: Strasbourg Exhibition Centre
Winemakers present: Over 500 independent winemakers
Regions represented: All major French wine regions
Format: Direct estate sales, free tastings, oenological workshops

Created in 1993, the Salon des Vignerons Indépendants has established itself as the annual meeting point for wine enthusiasts directly from estates. The Strasbourg edition attracts over 20,000 visitors each year over four days, coming to discover confidential productions, meet winemakers, and build their cellar at estate prices (without intermediaries).

A Unique Format: Direct from the Winemaker

The founding principle of the Salon — and what distinguishes it from other wine events — lies in the physical presence of the winemaker at their booth. Each estate present is represented by its owner or a member of the winemaking family, creating direct exchange about cultivation methods, vinification choices, available vintages.

Advantages of Direct Purchase

  • Estate prices — cellar departure prices, without distribution margin or intermediary
  • Personalized advice — the winemaker guides you according to your tastes, dishes, budget
  • Exclusive discovery — access to confidential cuvées, small productions not distributed in classic circuits
  • Total traceability — precise knowledge of the parcel, grape variety, cultivation methods (organic, biodynamic, conventional)
  • Organized delivery — Geodis service offered at the salon for home delivery of large purchases

All French Wine Regions Represented

The Salon des Vignerons Indépendants Strasbourg brings together all major French production regions:

  • Alsace — Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Crémant d'Alsace
  • Bordeaux — Médoc, Saint-Émilion, Pomerol, Pessac-Léognan, Sauternes
  • Burgundy — Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, Chablis, Mâconnais
  • Champagne — grower-producers, small houses
  • Rhône Valley — Côte-Rôtie, Hermitage, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas
  • Loire — Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Chinon, Vouvray, Muscadet
  • Languedoc-Roussillon — Corbières, Minervois, Pic Saint-Loup, Collioure
  • Southwest — Cahors, Madiran, Jurançon, Bergerac
  • Provence — Bandol, Cassis, Côtes-de-Provence
  • Savoie, Jura, Beaujolais — mountain appellations and Beaujolais crus

This diversity allows in four days to traverse the entire French vineyard without leaving Strasbourg.

Free Tasting Workshops

The Salon offers throughout the four days thematic workshops led by professional oenologists and sommeliers:

  • Tasting initiation — identifying aromas, understanding wine structure, oenological vocabulary
  • Food and wine pairings — how to associate wines and dishes according to complementarity or contrast principles
  • Regional focus — in-depth discovery of an appellation (terroir, grape varieties, vinification styles)
  • Organic and biodynamic wines — understanding certifications, identifying taste differences
  • Building your cellar — which wines to buy, in what proportions, for what aging duration
